Prior to joining Island Insurance, John was Vice President of RLI Insurance, a national specialty insurance company, where his responsibilities included directing its Hawaii operations.
John has nearly 40 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. His previous experience also includes INA Special Risk, Continental Insurance, and Allstate Insurance, where he was responsible for several areas including management, underwriting, marketing, and operations.
Active in industry organizations, John currently serves as a board member of the National Council on Compensation Insurance as well as serves on the NCCI Audit Committee, Chairman of the Board of the Hawaii Property Insurance Association, member of the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Insurers Council, and Treasurer of the Hawaii Insurers Council PAC, board member of the Hawaii Employers Council, and a member of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America Executive Advisory Committee.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Island Insurance Companies and the Island Insurance Foundation.
John earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and is a designated Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
