Island Insurance Appoints Grant R. Gurtiza and Dawn L. Hirano as Assistant Vice Presidents
Island Insurance, Hawaii’s largest locally owned property & casualty insurance carrier, has appointed Grant R. Gurtiza as Assistant Vice President, Information Systems Support Services and Dawn L. Hirano as Assistant Vice President, Human Resources.
In his position, Gurtiza will continue to be responsible for the coordination of the systems and support services functions within the company’s Information Systems Division. Gurtiza has more than 20 years of information technology experience and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information & Computer Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is a graduate of Iolani School.
Hirano, who has over 15 years of human resources experience, will continue to be responsible for overseeing the human resources areas of employment, recruiting, benefits administration, performance management and training within the company. Hirano earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California and is a graduate of Iolani School.
