Job Summary: 
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for providing data-driven insights to the business units through regular and ad-hoc reporting under the supervision of the Actuarial Supervisor. A deep understanding of insurance data is essential, along with the ability to extract and manipulate data using a variety of databases and business intelligence tools. This role plays a critical part in the company’s data-driven decision-making processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field required.
  • 2 years experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar role required; property and casualty insurance experience a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience in working with data and windows-based software applications including Microsoft Excel required.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases such as MSSQL preferred.
  • Experience with programming languages such as R or Python preferred, specifically data manipulation packages like dplyr or Pandas.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other relevant data visualization software preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Attainment of or working toward CPCU or other Insurance related certification or designation preferred.
  • Other insurance (AU, CIC, etc.) or business analyst certifications (ECBA, CCBA, etc.) desirable.
